Give a task to a collaborator
Put a task on a project and give it to a person. Everyone on the project sees who does what.
Steps
- Open the project page. It has a “Tasks” panel.
- Type the task in “New task…”.
- In the list of people beside it, choose the person. You can also choose a due date.
- Press “Add task”.
A task given to you
A task that a collaborator gives you shows “You” in place of a name. So you see at a glance which tasks are yours.
Nearfield can also show a desktop notification with the task. To turn it off, open Settings and use the switch “When someone gives you a task”.
The task reaches you when your computers sync. It does not reach you at the moment the person types it.
More about this
The list offers the people in your Contacts. The person who shares a project with you is a contact too, so you can give a task back to them. See Who is in your Contacts.
The person sees the task when the project is shared with them. Both of you need beta.9 or newer for the task to show “You”.
You can put a sample or a voice note on a task. See Send a sample or a voice note.
