Help / Settings and your account / Crash reports
Crash reports
Turn crash reports on or off, see what a report sends, and report a problem.
Steps
- Open “Diagnostics” from Settings.
- Use the switch “Send crash reports”. It is on by default.
What a report holds
A report holds where Nearfield broke, its version, your system type, how much memory it used, the free disk space, the time, and a random number. It never holds your name, your email, your project names or your file names.
Open “See what a crash report sends” to read a report before it goes.
Send your own report
When you open “Diagnostics”, Nearfield makes a diagnostics report on this computer. Nothing is sent yet. Press “Send report” to send it to us, or “Save to a file” to keep a copy.
Report a problem
Use this when something in Nearfield does not work as you expect. You write what happened, and the diagnostics report goes with your words.
- Press “Report a bug” at the bottom right of any screen. You can also open “Report a problem” from Settings.
- Write what you did, what you saw, and what you expected to see.
- Press “See the report”. Nothing is sent yet.
- Read the report. Then press “Send report”, or “Save to a file” to email it yourself.
Nearfield changes project names, file names, folders and email addresses into codes before the report is made. This includes the names in your own words. The report does not include your email address. For an answer, write to hello@nearfieldapp.com and give your reference.
No app? You can also report a problem from the website.
